Volcanos
Indonesia is an island nation on the "ring of fire." It is the result of tectonic uplifts and volcanos that have produced some of the most massive eruptions in the earth's history. Profiles of volcanos were almost always in view, and we dove in the shadows of several. We saw sulfurated sand underwater, and some slight bubbling, as well as minor venting from one volcano. At another we dove among the plate corals that have now completely covered the solid lava that once flowed into the sea from a long-forgotten eruption.
