Underwater
We saw an amazing abundance and diversity of corals, fishes, and "critters" such as eels, sea snakes, squids and cuttlefish, crabs, lobsters, tiny seahorses, nudibranchs, starfish, sea cucumbers and sponges. The larger fishes would parade by in large schools, and the smaller ones congregated in communities over coral outcroppings, the individuals usually rushing back and forth on unknown errands.
The most spectacular creatures we saw were huge manta rays. They soared through the water as they gracefully flapped their powerful wings, which can span 24 feet. One afternoon we were treated to a caravan of accompanying dolphins and the blow of a visiting whale.
These are pictures that Harvey took with his new sealed, SeaLife camera. I did the post-processing.
